Windsor Homes began in 1993 as a custom home building and commercial construction company. |
As we saw an opportunity to expand our construction services, Windsor Development Group was founded in 2000 to facilitate affordable housing developments—transforming communities brick by brick. Our team lives and works in Central Illinois where our residential and commercial projects develop, which makes us very accessible to our clients. Our portfolio contains everything from a 14,000 square foot forensics lab to a custom campground bathhouse, as well as attractive affordable housing. No matter the size of the job, we commit one hundred percent to our clients.
The driving force behind the hard working team at Windsor is President and Owner, Mike Niehaus. Mike earned his B.S. from Illinois State University and has been in the housing industry since 1983. His early career in building centered around working for large home builders opening, selling, and closing out housing projects ranging from 20 to 600 lots. He then went on to be the Vice President of Operations for a large home building company in Texas where he was charged with directing growth and development in sales and construction, doubling the Dallas market from 1989 – 1991. Wanting to branch out on his own, Mike founded his own construction company, Windsor Homes, Inc., in 1993. In 2000, Windsor Development Group, Inc. was created to coordinate all aspects of the development process.
